As an Offering Solution Architect - Cloud & Platform Services in the DXC Global Solutioning Center (GSC) I my focus was providing the best in class Technical Presales Consulting and Solution Architecture support on large Enterprise Bids to envision, design and sell competitive and cost effective solutions to Customers' Business need. The role has a focus on strategic Bids for large Enterprise Services Contracts. Solution architect work closely with Pursuit, Technical, Product, Partner and Leadership teams to define and deliver customer solutions of varying complexity in the Enterprise Bid process translating business challenges into working technology solutions.
The Solution Architect provides technical sales leadership as the cloud subject matter expert in key customer engagements and in the Bidding process for strategic Sales opportunities for large Enterprise Contracts., driving the technical pre- and post- sales engagement and building compelling cloud-based solutions and DXC services to the business needs of the Customer. In the RFP stage, the Solution Architect is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the offered solution and ensures that all technical, commercial, contractual and business considerations are taken into account in order to get the Customer Buy-In; successfully achieve the desired outcomes, and result in a high revenue growth. Solution Architects provide leadership and guidance to Project teams to ensure all promised deliverables and commitments and kept on time and within budget. The above is not related to Cloud Architecture, but I consider them my greatest accomplishments, because they are cultural changes with tangible results and are proliferating across Enterprises. For Cloud Architecture accomplishments, these are some of the lesser impacting, but valuable cloud architecture solutions I worked on:
A founding members of DXC DevOps Guild I work with the senior leadership on classifying and harmonizing the DevOps team topologies and operating models across the organization. Although there is no single recipe that fits all customers and teams, we are working on a framework that will streamline our DevOps services and make it easy for customers to leverage DXC's massive body of experience and expertise in the DevOps world. I was invited to the DevOps topology guild for my excellent track record; hands on experience and certifications.
As the person accountable for the success and profitability of the solutions and services I offer; I have to ensure sufficient Operating Profit and decent margins can be maintain to deliver results for the DXC shareholders. There are elaborate Corporate Governance procedures which must be followed involving a series of iterations and multiple reviews depending on the deal size. Collecting evidence about cost, margins and risks is essential to establishing a sense of secured profit and the idea that reputational damage can be prevented with all Risks being identified and accounted for in advance; and obtaining assurance that Delivery teams are sufficient staffed and can be trained to deliver the service; at the required service levels with all contractual obligations satisfied and ensuring DXC interest is protected, whereas the solution must also satisfy the interest of Customers and Partners, often conflicting each other. I have to admit, these Governance I learned how to create sustainable Business models - something I consider invaluable to my career.
As one of Hostway's three Solutions Architects and the Public and Hybrid Cloud Azure Solution Architect lead my focus was Hostway strategic customers and colleagues is to ensure that all of their needs and expectations will be properly met. I worked with Solutions specialists in designing the most optimal solutions for our prospective Managed & Cloud customers: solutions that are perfectly tailored to fit their needs and match their budget expectations. I achieve this not just because of my customer driven motivation and technical knowledge. By having deployed many of these solutions myself throughout the years, operating them on the long rub and getting feedback from customers, I was able to gain priceless insights and knowledge of how our solutions work best and what are the possible outcomes of the various options that we provide to our customers. This is my contribution in making Hostway the trusted cloud!
As a Solutions Architect at Hostway, I engineered and on-boarded a number of customers and prospects including many of Hostway's VIP customers. I was also instrumental in the engineering and marginalizing a number of Hostway's key solution offerings such as RDS Hosting, Multi-Factor Authentication, Disaster Recovery, Offsite Backups, SPAM filtering, HIPAA/PCI DSS compliance and others . I often have to engage some of Hostway's strategic partners like Microsoft, Dell, Barracuda, Alert Logic and River Meadow in order to engineer a competitive solution that that is perfectly tailored to fit the needs of Hostway's clients and prospects. I was successful in setting up numerous hybrid cloud clients disaster recovery and hybrid cloud strategies in the public cloud.
From simple informational and e-commerce websites to dev/test environments with highly technical requirements, from single sever hosting to large networked clusters and virtual private clouds-my task is to make sure that Hostway customers get the tailored hosting solutions they need in every business stage.
My job was to quickly and professionally address technically appealing and complex requests for technical assistance from Hostway strategic partners and large enterprise customers, that were escalated to me by the rest of the team. My duty is to respond with the high level of technical expertise, that is required for an efficient and accurate resolution. My passion is helping people in finding the right solutions for their problems; in making sure they are provided with the loving support and the nurturing care they need to grow and develop in this ever changing world. Some of the tools and technologies we used to orchestrate our clients' services for our clients include Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Docker and others. I wrote numerous scripts to automate the fixes of common client problems and accelerate our clients on-boarding process.
I also participated actively in the setup of Hostway's resale of Managed Azure Services through the Azure Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) Programme. Automating subscription deployment and integration into Hostway's Client Management/Billing System through Partner Center APIs, were some of the things I contributed in.
